PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS PROYEK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERBICARA BAHASA INGGRIS SISWA
This study is aims to improve the English speaking ability of grade XI students at MA Hizbul Wathan Nw Darmasari East Lombok by applying project-based learning models. This study is quasi experimental research with pre test post test control group design. The population in this study were the eleventh grade students of MA Hizbul Wathan NW Darmasari in the academic year 2023/2024.
Data collection techniques in this study went through 3 stages, namely pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Pre test is first step in collecting data, this test is given before tretament with puspose to mesasure the students ability in speaking. The second step in collecting data is treatment, teaching english by applying project based learnin model to experimetal group. The last steps for data collection technique is post test, this test is to measure the students ability in speaking after treatment. Menawhile, the data have collected analyzed statistically by SPSS application to answer the resarch queastion of this study.
The results showed that the mean score obtained by experimental class students in the pre-test was 59.35 while the mean score obtained by students in the post-test experimental class was 70.2. In addition, the mean score for the control class pre-test was 59.9 while the mean score obtained by control class students in the post-test was 64.35. The data above shows that the average value obtained by experimental class students and control class students in the pre-test and post-test were different In which the experimental class has increased very significantly compared to the control class.
