Abstract

The double track program is one of the flagship programs of the East Java provincial government to develop expertise skills in the field of education by combining regular learning programs and skills provision activities side by side which aims to prepare students to graduate by obtaining formal diplomas and skills competency certificates. This study aims to describe the implementation strategy of the double track program, supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the double track program, and the implications of the double track program as an effort to improve the vocational skills of students at SMA Negeri 1 Paiton Probolinggo. This research uses a qualitative method with a type of case study research with data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. The techniques chosen in data analysis are data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are the strategies used in the implementation of the double track program at SMA Negeri 1 Paiton to improve the vocational skills of students, namely a) mapping students. b) developing programs in the form of material and practice. c) competent educators. d) certification. e) financing. 2) In the implementation of this program there are supporting factors and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors include competent resources and cooperation with DUDI. While inhibiting factors are inadequate facilities and infrastructure that can reduce student interest. 3) The implementation of this double track program can improve the skills possessed by students and foster the entrepreneurial spirit of students as evidenced by the graduates who open their own businesses thanks to the knowledge gained from the double track program.
