Deradicalization Through Strengthening Religion Based on Multicultural Institutional Development

Abstract

Indonesian society, which is considered to be the most religious country in the world, in carrying out multicultural-based institutional development programs certainly cannot be equated with multicultural-based institutional development programs in liberal countries like America. For this reason, this research aims to examine multicultural-based institutional development from an Islamic perspective with approaches that are more appropriate to the background and character of Indonesian society. The research applies library research methods with a qualitative approach, the data sources used are valid documents, including books, research results published in journals. The results of this research indicate that the concept of a multicultural-based institutional development program that is relevant to the majority of Muslims in Indonesia is through strengthening religious understanding, including the mandatory Madarasah Diniyyah program, provision and selection. pilot and adding Sufism material at the high school level and equivalent.
