Abstract

Sukuk are securities issued by the government or companies by issuing underlying assets in the form of objects that have value and are then bought and sold. Investors are one of the most important parts of sukuk funding. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, relying on primary and secondary data sources from related references. The main aim of this research is to provide an understanding of Sukuk, by emphasizing the meaning of Sukuk, the legal basis for Sukuk, the difference between Sukuk and Bonds, and the function of Sukuk as an alternative to Sharia investment. The results of this research show that Sukuk is a type of sharia capital market that helps state finances. Sukuk are also a conducive investment and a solution to reduce the government's debt burden. According to Law Number 19 of 2008 concerning Sukuk/State Sharia Securities, it is clear that Sukuk are sharia-based securities.
