UANG DAN BANK DALAM PEMIKIRAN EKONOMI ISLAM SJAFRUDDIN PRAWIRANEGARA
Abstract
The eovolusion of money, which was initially only a medium of exchange, turned into a tool that was more than that. Currently, money can be used as a means of payment for goods or services. The shift in use also began to develop by starting to use money as a shopping tool or as a tool to store wealth. People can do this with various options, especially now that there are banks that are a place to store money. The focus of the purpose of this research is to research and analyze money and banks in the Islamic economic thought of Sjafruddin Prawiranegara. This type of research is library research. The approach used is a qualitative approach by categorizing. The object of this research is money and banks in Islamic economic thought by Sjafruddin Prawiranegara (1911–1989). The source of data in this study is the book Sjarifudin Prawiranegara: Economics and Finance of the Meaning of Islamic Economics. Secondary sources used are books and articles or previous research results that are relevant and support the improvement of data from the first source. The research method carried out by the researcher is the documentation method. The data analysis technique used in this study uses a content analysis model. The results of this study show that Sjafruddin Prawiranegara stated that money is essentially the same as other goods, can be exchanged and can be benefited from, therefore buying and selling money or commonly called credit is allowed. Bank interest based on riba was dismissed by Sjafruddin Prawiranegara's opinion that bank interest is not riba, because the source of riba that is declared haram arises from the event of extortion and human oppression. In this case, the law of haram or sin is sentenced.
