Publication Ethics

Al-Fikru : Jurnal Pendidikan dan Sains upholds high ethical standards in scholarly publishing to ensure integrity, quality, and transparency in research dissemination. The journal follows the ethical guidelines set by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and expects all parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to adhere to ethical principles.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite all sources. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship and Contribution: All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the research. Ghostwriting and guest authorship are not allowed.
  • Data Accuracy and Integrity: Authors should provide accurate and verifiable data. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is unethical.
  • Multiple or Redundant Publication: Manuscripts submitted to Al-Fikru must not be under review or published in another journal.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors should properly acknowledge all sources of funding and support for their research.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that may influence their research.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Fair Review Process: Editors evaluate submissions based on academic merit, free from any bias related to the authors’ background, affiliation, gender, or other personal attributes.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and not disclose information to unauthorized parties.
  • Editorial Decisions: Editors are responsible for final publication decisions based on the manuscript’s quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Ethical Considerations: Editors must take appropriate action in cases of ethical breaches, such as plagiarism, data falsification, or conflicts of interest.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Objective and Constructive Feedback: Reviewers should provide honest, constructive, and unbiased evaluations of manuscripts.
  • Confidentiality: All information related to submitted manuscripts must be kept confidential.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their evaluations promptly and notify the editor if they are unable to meet the deadline.
  • Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing if necessary.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • Ethical Oversight: The publisher, LP3M Universitas Islam Zainul Hasan Genggong, is committed to ethical publishing practices and ensuring journal policies align with COPE guidelines.
  • Correction and Retraction: If errors or ethical issues arise after publication, the journal will issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as needed.
  • Editorial Independence: The publisher supports editorial freedom and does not interfere with editorial decisions.
