Al-Fikru: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Sains recognizes that authors may need to withdraw their submitted manuscripts under certain circumstances. However, manuscript withdrawal should be handled responsibly and in accordance with ethical publication standards.
1. Conditions for Withdrawal
Authors may request manuscript withdrawal under the following conditions:
a. Before Peer Review
- Authors can withdraw their manuscript without penalty by submitting a formal withdrawal request via email to the editorial team.
- The request must include the manuscript title, submission ID, and reasons for withdrawal.
b. After Peer Review (But Before Acceptance)
- Withdrawal at this stage is discouraged, as it wastes editorial and reviewer resources.
- Authors must provide a valid reason for withdrawal, such as significant errors, ethical concerns, or changes in research direction.
- If the reason is justified, the editorial team will approve the withdrawal request.
c. After Acceptance (Before Publication)
- Withdrawal at this stage is strongly discouraged, as the manuscript is already in the final stages of publication.
- If withdrawal is still necessary, the authors must provide a detailed written explanation.
- Unauthorized or unethical withdrawal (e.g., simultaneous submission to another journal) may result in blacklisting from future submissions.
d. After Publication
- Published articles cannot be withdrawn unless serious ethical issues, such as plagiarism or data fabrication, are identified.
- If a serious issue is confirmed, the journal may issue a retraction notice instead of withdrawal.
2. Withdrawal Request Procedure
To request manuscript withdrawal, authors must:
- Send an official withdrawal request via email to the journal’s editorial office.
- Include the manuscript title, submission ID, and reason for withdrawal.
- Await confirmation from the editorial team. Withdrawal is not final until the authors receive official approval.
3. Ethical Considerations
- Manuscripts under review should not be submitted to another journal until a formal withdrawal confirmation is received.
- Repeated or unjustified withdrawal requests may result in restrictions on future submissions.
