Correction and Retraction Policy

Iqtishodiyah: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam is committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the academic record. This policy outlines the procedures for handling corrections and retractions when errors or ethical concerns are identified in published articles.

1. Corrections

Corrections are issued for articles that contain minor errors that do not affect the overall reliability of the research but require clarification.

a. When Corrections Are Issued

Corrections may be issued in cases such as:

  • Typographical errors (e.g., author names, affiliations, references).
  • Minor factual inaccuracies that do not change the study's conclusions.
  • Formatting or layout issues affecting readability.

b. Correction Procedure

  • Authors or readers may request a correction by contacting the editorial team.
  • The editorial team will review the request and, if necessary, publish a correction notice in the next journal issue.
  • The corrected version will be updated in the journal system, with a note indicating the changes.

2. Retractions

A retraction is issued for articles that contain serious ethical or academic integrity violations that invalidate the research.

a. Reasons for Retraction

Articles may be retracted if they involve:

  • Plagiarism (unauthorized use of another’s work).
  • Data fabrication or falsification (manipulation of research data).
  • Significant errors that compromise the validity of the findings.
  • Duplicate publication (submission of the same research in multiple journals).
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest affecting research credibility.

b. Retraction Procedure

  • The editorial team conducts an investigation based on complaints or internal review findings.
  • Authors are notified and given an opportunity to respond before a final decision is made.
  • If retraction is necessary, the journal will:
    • Publish a Retraction Notice, clearly stating the reason.
    • Mark the article as Retracted in the journal system and indexing databases.
    • Preserve the original article with a watermark indicating its retracted status.

3. Editorial Responsibility

  • The journal follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines in handling corrections and retractions.
  • All decisions are made with transparency and fairness, ensuring the credibility of scholarly publications.
