Plagiarism Policy

Iqtishodiyah: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam is committed to upholding academic integrity and ensuring that all published works maintain the highest ethical standards. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited, and the journal has established the following policy to prevent and address plagiarism.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of using someone else’s work, ideas, data, or words without proper acknowledgment. It includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct Plagiarism: Copying text from another source without citation.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Republishing an author’s own previously published work without proper attribution or justification.
  • Mosaic Plagiarism: Paraphrasing content from multiple sources without proper attribution.
  • Improper Citation: Failing to credit original sources or misrepresenting information.

2. Plagiarism Screening Process

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo a plagiarism check using Turnitin or similar plagiarism detection software.
  • Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% (excluding references and common phrases) will be subject to further review.
  • If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

3. Actions Against Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified at any stage, the following actions will be taken:

  • Before Publication: The manuscript will be returned for correction, or in severe cases, rejected.
  • After Publication: If plagiarism is discovered post-publication:
    • The article will be retracted from the journal.
    • A notice of retraction will be published.
    • The author may be blacklisted from future submissions.
    • The author’s institution may be notified in cases of severe misconduct.

4. Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cited.
  • Any content reproduced from other sources must be quoted and cited correctly.
  • Authors must provide proper attribution for their previously published work to avoid self-plagiarism.
