Reviewer Guidelines

At-Ta’lim: Jurnal Pendidikan follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research. Reviewers play a critical role in evaluating submissions based on academic rigor, originality, and relevance to the journal's focus. The following guidelines outline the responsibilities and expectations for reviewers.


1. General Responsibilities

  • Provide constructive, fair, and objective feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts.
  • Maintain confidentiality by not sharing or discussing the manuscript outside the review process.
  • Identify ethical concerns, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, or conflicts of interest.
  • Complete the review within the specified deadline (typically 2–4 weeks).

2. Review Criteria

Reviewers should evaluate the manuscript based on the following aspects:

a. Title & Abstract

  • Is the title clear, concise, and informative?
  • Does the abstract summarize the study's purpose, methods, results, and conclusion effectively?

b. Introduction

  • Does the introduction clearly define the research problem and objectives?
  • Is the background information relevant and well-supported by literature?

c. Literature Review (if applicable)

  • Does the manuscript provide a comprehensive review of existing research?
  • Are the references current, relevant, and properly cited?

d. Research Methodology

  • Is the methodology appropriate, clear, and replicable?
  • Are the data collection and analysis techniques well-justified?

e. Results & Discussion

  • Are the results presented clearly and logically, with supporting tables/figures?
  • Does the discussion interpret the findings appropriately, relating them to prior research?

f. Conclusion

  • Does the conclusion summarize key findings and their implications?
  • Are recommendations for future research or practical applications provided?

g. References

  • Are references formatted correctly (APA 7th edition)?
  • Are all cited works properly attributed?

3. Review Process

  1. Invitation to Review: Reviewers will receive an email with a manuscript invitation. If unable to review, please decline promptly.
  2. Manuscript Evaluation: Provide a detailed and constructive review using the online system.
  3. Recommendation: Reviewers can suggest one of the following decisions:
    • Accept (minor or no revisions)
    • Revisions Required (moderate changes needed)
    • Resubmit for Review (major revisions required)
    • Reject (unsuitable for publication)
  4. Final Comments: Offer suggestions to help the authors improve their work.

4. Ethical Considerations

  • Conflict of Interest: If a reviewer has a personal or professional conflict with the authors, they must notify the editor and decline the review.
  • Plagiarism & Ethical Violations: If suspected, reviewers should alert the editorial team immediately.
  • Confidentiality: Do not share, copy, or distribute manuscripts.
